i notice that the last 5 reviews on the nfu were all made from the same computer on the same day , extreemly fishy

Hi have used NFU for the last 10 years with 3 horses. I have had to claim on numerous occasions and never had an issue, excelent service.

I have been an NFU customer for over 6 years. Have insured numerous horses, trailers & horsebox. I've never found them to be the cheapest but have valued being able to speak to the same person & enjoy the person service which they offer. Have never had to make a claim (have only scored them 1 star as I've no experience of claims) but this year (2011) I've received my renewal & it's 25% higher than the amount I paid last year!!! (£500 to be exact). Phoned my local office (Chapeltown) and were informed that due to the high amount of claims paid out all premiums have been increased. I argued that £500 is unfair as I've never made a claim & always pay my premiums in full (not by DD). Apparently nothing they can do, not interested in maintaining my business or the fact I've been a good value customer for 6 years! I asked that my comments be passed onto someone at NFU who actually cares! After this I cannot recommend NFU for good value insurance :-(

I use the local NFU office in Ashbourne (Derbyshire) and they always get back to you.

Horse insurance policy - after a big claim for an accident involving my horse - without notice they cancelled the insurance policy. I tried to follow up with their Complaints Team, and involved the Financial Ombudsman as well. They said they would reinstate it, but they didn't. After endless calls and emails (all were ignored) - I finally got one last email from them to say that they changed their minds and will not reinstate it. They said they could only offer me a brand new policy which would NOT cover any pre-existing conditions from my previous policy. They are a***holes...completely unprofessional.
