Probably a typical insurance "get out clause" but my horse had a compacted colic incident which needed the vet but i paid the fee £100ish, then when she suffered a second bout of colic months later which needed an operation they refused to pay out (excluded colic), I had to pay fee's and sadly horse had to be put to sleep several months later which I again had to pay for. Sometimes think your better off putting your money in the bank for emergencies.

Beware! SEIB is a broker that acts like an insurance company. When I insisted on my right to deal direct with my insurer they refused to renew my policy. When I made a claim they were difficult and obstructive and paid an organisation my horse had been referred to even though I was totally disatisfied with the outcome. The organisation refused to do extensive diagnostic tests because they said SEIB were so difficult to deal with and would not pay

Very sympathetic friendly and helpful on both occasions when unfortunatly I had to claim, and paid straight to the vet very quickly too with no quibble.

when I found out my horse was ill I phoned SEIB for advice. They were extremely helpful and paid the insurance company very quickly. I would recommend them. I have both horse and trailer insurance with them!

We have had no problems with SEIB, they provide a swift service. (Review given at Barlow Show 13th July 09)

Always used SEIB via BHS and found them very satisfactory
